The Asian Wedding Fair held in the Thistle Hotel, Glasgow was a day full of colour and buzz. The Cleveden Quartet played some Bollywood numbers to a packed hall. There were lots of fascinating exhibition stands at the Fair advertising a wide range of wedding memorabilia from dresses to make up, to experts on henna . This cake was just one of the wonderful items on display … Très jolie n’est ce pas??.
Mendelssohn’s Wedding March is a popular choice for the bridal entrance . This is included in the Cleveden Quartet’s playlist and will be part of the repertoire performed at Strathaven Wedding Fair on Sunday 12th February 2012
Wedding bells in the air? Not sure about flowers table arrangements,music, etc? ..then come to the Strathaven Wedding Fair.
Live music will be provided by the Cleveden Quartet and you have a leisurely browse through the many exhibitors that will be there. Should be a fun and informative day out for all future brides and grooms

This Glasgow based String Quartet is having a great new year with lots of enquiries and bookings. An exciting development for us as a quartet is that we’re performing at the Asian Wedding Show in the Thistle Hotel, Cambridge Street, Glasgow on Sunday 5th February 2012 from 12midday to 8pm (free entry). This event is sponsored by Awaz FM and has given us a golden opportunity to explore and develop a brand new repertoire.
Bollywood music has a definite panache. Just listen to Humko Ko Hami Se and Guzarish and you’ll see our point . These tunes lend themselves very well to string quartet arrangements and we have been beavering away in preparation for the Show

The Cleveden Quartet ended 2011 on a high note – if you’ll pardon the pun- by playing in the sumptious surroundings of the Grand Central Hotel Glasgow . The atmosphere was reminiscent of a bygone age and the Grand Ballroom.bedecked in all its finery. lived up to its name The quartet, as usual. played a mixture of both classical and contemporary numbers . 2 new pieces were added to the repertoire for this wedding . Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana and Boccherini’s String Quartet
2012 promises to have more exciting developments for the quartet. Watch this blog for further details.
